The HotRod Gazette was born in 1995 as a Newsletter for the Riversway Cruise held monthly at the Riversway Docklands, Preston, Lancashire.
It developed from an idea bandied about during a session of bench racing one evening at Pete Whiteside's house.
The first edition was launched in April as a 'freebie' giveaway to anybody attending the cruise.
Anybody lucky enough to still have that collectible first edition will be thrilled to know that it could be worth as much as twenty pence.

Over the months, the size of the publication grew and people from further a field, who could not always get to the Cruise, wanted to get hold of copies.
Hence the first cover charges came to be, to cover the cost of paper, printing and postage.  The magazine has never been about making money it has been about supporting a small sport that is very dear to a hardcore group of enthusiasts.

Money raised from merchandising is ploughed back into the sport by way of sponsorship of shows across the UK.  In certain circumstances where a Rodder has found themselves in unfortunate circumstances HRG has been able to make them a donation; never a great deal, but as the saying goes, every little helps and it’s always nice to know that there are friends out there who care. HotRodding is very much about friendship and there are so few hobbies which you can become involved in that will earn you such a great number of friends across the UK, Europe and even the World.

The format of HRG is very much tabloid and includes humour that often borders on smut and will often be meaningless to people outside of the sport.

Nakedness and profanity are our trademarks our emphasis is on keeping the sport alive and having fun.  If you are easily offended then you will not enjoy the magazine. If you belong to the Green Party then you should be prepared for medical attention after reading our magazine.

Classified ads are free, and because of short lead-times in printing most ads are ahead of the national magazines, giving HRG readers 'scoop' purchases.  We only print HotRod, Classic and American car related (or memorabilia) adverts.
HotRod Gazette supports the UK Rodding scene and culture, embracing Classic and American vehicles.

We do not support the Hot-Hatch, big stereo,
'Race around Tesco’s car park Twat-Hatch Brigade'.
