Chris McKenna's Pop

Check out the attention to detail on this Pop from Poulton, Lancashire. Aside from its ground-hugging stance, there's a one-piece canti-levered bonnet, chopped top, radius'd doors, de-guttered and filled roof and a Z'd chassis. Power is by V6 Ford. Featured in HRG 2003.

Cath Napier's Toledo

Bracket racer extaordinaire, Cath Napier, runs this little Triumph Toledo (called Toby) on a regular basis over at York Raceway. The car is pretty well stock aside from some period slot mags. Cath also has a '73 Cougar convertible, which has spent far too much time under a dust sheet now!

Chris McCullough's 1968 Ford Cortina

Chris' Cortina is a real lesson in how to build a street sleeper. This rare two-door version looks like a classic on its skinny 165 tyres, but lurking under that hood there's a built 302 with ally heads and a Paxton supercharger, backed up by a T5 transmission and a limited slip Capri rear. Best time to date 13.01 at the track. Featured in HRG 2006.

John Osborne's 100E

Little Blue Gene Pop is the creation of John and Christine Osborne from Bredbury, Manchester. It features a stretched nose, full tube chassis and a fuel injected 427 ci stroker small block Chevy V8 with nitrous injection. The car has run a best time to date of 10.8 but still sees plenty of street action and is always a tough contender in the National Street Car Challenge. Featured October 2006.

Malc Glancy's '68 Cutlass

Malc's been around the hotrodding scene for many years but has finally been convinced to take the plunge with this lovely '68 Oldsmobile Cutlass, running a 350ci V8, auto box, Cragar rims and air shocks.

Jonathan Cunliffe's '66 LeMans

Jonathan runs a garage specialising in MGs, though his personal taste is more towards American muscle, with a '69 Mustang under construction in his garage and this very tastey '66 Pontiac LeMans Convertible for scooting about in through the summer months.

Jon Gunby's '64 Ford Fairlane

A real period cruiser on its five spoke daisy mags, this 289cubic inch Fairlane is a ragular sight at the Leeds Cruise.

Paul Walker's T-Roadster PickUp

Paul is from Lincolnshire, though it seems that we see more of this T blasting up the motorway to remote parts of Scotland. Certainly a 'driven' rod, Paul's dad - Charlie "HotRod" - lives on the Isle of Skye - hence the miles. The T runs a Rover V8 motor.

John Stanton's Model A Roadster PickUp

John, from Blackpool, has had a number of rods over the years but when he happened on this cherry little A Roadster PickUp we couldn't wait to see what he did with it....and surprisingly it was nothing at all! Four years on and he still hasn't had the heart to rod it. Wimp!

Sue Manners' Model A Roadster PickUp

This superbly engineered rod was featured back in July 2006, built as a 'labour oflove' by her partner, Steve Lang. It features a 302ci Ford V8 and one-off leopard print interior. Sue uses the rod for work when the weather permits and gets a real kick out of driving it.

Chris Eame's 32 Ford Roadster

We love to see rods running different power plants, so this 32 Ford really took our eye with a supercharged 2.0 Pinto motor under the hood and four speed overdrive trans. Radir wheels and a snug fenders compliment the look and a full leather interior make this one comfy ride. Featured in January 2007.

Steve Stringfellow's Triumph Herald

Just dig this for a retro-racer in its' original two-tone colour This tube-framed street car has run down to the tens at SantaPod thanks to a 400 cube small block Chevy motor. A regular at the Riversway and American AutoMags cruises, Steve's car was runner up in the National Street car Challenge in 2006. Sadly this car went belly-up (literally) in April '07 and is currently being rebuilt by crew chief Ian Armitage.

Dave Jones' 1956 Chevrolet

This gorgeous Tri-Chevy drives way better than GM ever engineered them, thanks to a 402ci big block, 4-speed overdrive trans, power rack and fully sorted suspension. Dave's the lucky guy who bought this off Joe Crabtree after about 13 years of ownership - it's a regular on the Northern circuits.

Andy Norton's 48 Ford Sedan

Ex-pat Andy Norton was a well-known face down at the Leeds Cruise with his flamed Model A Sedan Delivery, but has since relocated his family to Vancuver Island in Canada, which from what we can gather is hotrod heaven. Here's his new ride, a sweet-as-you-like '48 Ford Sedan with a 400ci small block Chevy V8.

Nick Fitt's '05 Mustang GT

Nick's a keen racer with his recent Mustang GT, which he's equipped with 4.11 gears and modified rear control arms. From Luton, Nick sure ain't afraid of putting the miles on this Pony, driving all over the UK taking part in the National Street Car Challenge.
