John Rowley's Austin Dorset Check this out for a true brit rod: John Rowley's subtle Austin places stock bodywork over an owner-built chassis which features a n independent front-end using Granada spindles on home-made A-arms. At the rear there's a narrowed Chrysler 8 3/4 axle and the motor is a tastey 360ci Mopar V8, tweaked well enough to put this rod into the thirteen-second territory over the quarter. Despite a bad crash at SantaPod in 2004, John has rebuilt the car and it's back out again - racking up plenty of miles to rod runs the length and breadth of the country. |

Bob Booth's 1930 Model A Ford Bob Booth, from Manchester, has turned out many a top-quality rod over the years - and here's his latest offering - a trad-daddio Model A Coupe that's really got some cool sixties feel going on. Motivated by a tri-carbed 350ci Chevy V8 backed up by a TH350 trans and 8" rear this baby can shake on a bit. That superb gold colour is actually off a Citroen Saxo (!) with contrasting white diamond-pleated interior. For the finishing touch checkout those Radir rims and wide white crossplies....hmmm, tastey! |
Brian 'Crusty' Perks Track T There doesn't come much more hardcore hotrodders than Brian and Tracy Perks - and here they are out on the road in their Track T. Powered by a cookin' 355ci small block, this T runs drum brakes and skinny crossplies and is regularly seen smokin' its hides all the way up the quarter at Shaky County Raceway. Thirteen second tickets and never a dull moment. Guys and gals like this keep the scene alive. Brian's rod was featured in HRG in 2002 whilst his wife's breasts appear much more frequently.... |

Grahm, from Wigan, puts plenty of miles on the clock each season running in NSCC and this gorgeous machine turns mid-twelves - the biggest problem being able o put all that power down on the track! Mike Moffoot's V8 Escort Mike Moffoot, from York, was better known on the scene for his ProStreet '39 Ford (ex-Roger Grundy - RiP) but these days he's having a blast in this Mk2 Escort which ought to be keeping the rally boys guessing. Aside from the Forest arches and big spot lamps (hmmm, not really our kinda thing Mike!) there's an ali Rover V8 under that bonnet (now you're talking) topped with a unique twin downdraught Weber setup. And for you purists out there who think that Mike may be losing his way, there's a tubbed Mk2 Zodiac well under construction back home in the garage.... |
